Olive's Ocean by Kevin Henkes
This book is about a girl named Martha whose friend Olive had died in a car accident. Things begin to get more complicated when she begins to like Jimmy Manning, a boy she used to despise. What was going on?! Would life for Martha ever be the same again?! I think that this book won the Newbery Award because it is so realistic and easy to read.

Mr. Henkes does a really good job describing some of the changes that come with growing up. I really enjoyed this book too!
