Madeline by Lubwing Bemelmans
A girl named Madeline was living in a school in Paris with Miss Claval. One night, Madeline's appendix burst and she went to the hospital. Six hours later she was eating. People came and went to visit her. Finally, she got out and went back to live with Miss Claval. I think this was an honor book because of the rhyming story.

This was a favorite book of mine when I was in elementary school. I still have part of it memorized. It actually won the Caldecott award for its great illustrations.
