Maniac Magee is about a kid named Jeffrey who used to have parents, but now he does not because they were on trolley P and W and the trolley driver got drunk and flew them off a bridge into the river. Then he went to his aunt and uncle's who fight all the time. So he ran away and now he lives by himself in the wild. My favorite part was when went out and sat on the mean people's front porch and read. This book deserves to be a Newbery Award book because it is really funny and adventurous.
