The Bears on Hemlock Mountain by Alice Dalgliesh
The Bears on Hemlock Mountain is about an eight year old boy named Johnathon. he starts over Hemlock Mountain to fetch the big iron for his mother from his aunt. Johnathon is convinced there are no bears on Hemlock Mountain, but soon has his mind changed. I like this book because it's a great story and it's realistic. And that's exactly why I think it deserves a Newbery Honor.
